The Skate Skool Launch Party

The Palms Shopping Centre carpark provided the ideal pad of concrete for the Cheapskates Skate Skool launch in Christchurch last Saturday. A year in the making, Skate Skool is now rolling the streets to a school near you. The official unveiling of the Trailer-Park (skate-able trailer) had over 100 young skaters in a frenzy while the next generation of shredders received trick tips from the Skate Skool crew.

It was awesome to see all the new gear getting a good thrashing with over 40 kids borrowing wheels so they could have a rip. Big ups to DJ Aleon for providing the tunes and Jeremy on the BBQ for cooking and distributing the 300 free sausages. A massive thank you also to all the volunteers, the 35 competitors and the 300 people who came down to make it such a sweet event.

Keep an eye out as the Christchurch scene has some talent in the pipeline and will soon be pumping out some flippin’ good skaters. Check out some sweet shots below from the day taken by Andy Brown.
