Big Chill 2012: Photos & Results
Wintery weather didn’t stop us last Saturday from running our Big Chill event in Linwood park. Although the event lived up to its name again there were plenty of activities on offer to keep the blood pumping. This particular event we run as more of a community youth event than just a skate jam with activities ranging from 3 on 3 BBall with a shoot out comp, a game of touch rugby, free skate hire and of course the best trick skate comp which went down a hit with a good line up of local talent across both divisions.
Thanks to MaiFM for cooking up the BBQ and Hellers for the free sausages. Cheers also to the Salvation Army for rocking down with free hot chocolates for everyone.
Our friends from White Elephant helped out with the sounds and DJ for the day. All up the event went down well as always and there was even a bouncy obstacle course for the youngsters.
This event was supported by the Christchurch City Council -Hagley/Ferrymead community board. Cheers also to Cheapskates and Skullcandy for the prizes.
A big thanks to all those involved and all that came down to enjoy our last event for a while as we roll into winter and take a break for a few months. Rest assured we will be back with a big bold line-up of skate events next summer so keep shredding!
